How Can Water Be Anti-oxidant?

What makes ionized water an anti-oxidant?

The redox potential or ORP value(oxidative reduction potential) is a vitally important factor of our water often overlooked. Traditionally we have judged the properties of water from the standpoint of pH, in other words whether water is acidic or alkaline.

The pH of tap water is about pH 7, or neutral. When tap water is electrolyzed into Ionized Water, its reduced water has a pH of about 8.5-11.5 and the oxidized water a pH of about 2.5-2.7.

Some have asked me about just adding mineral powders, packets, or different combinations of such as they have seen advertised to make water alkaline. Even if you can make a pH 9 alkaline water by adding powdered or liquid minerals you will find very little change if any in the ORP value: It does not go negative at all which is what you want and need.

On the other hand, when you divide tap water with electrolysis you can see the ORP drop by as much as 1,000 mV from where many tap waters start. So you see, by electrolysis, we can obtain reduced water with a very negative ORP that is most beneficial for the body greatly adding to the alkalinity benefits of the water. How so?

Dr. Hidemitsu Hayashi, M.D., Director of the Water Institute of Japan, tells us in the "
Benefits of Alkaline, Ionized Water," that antioxidants block dangerous oxidation caused by over acidity. One way to protect healthy tissue from the ravages of oxidation is to provide free electrons to active oxygen radicals, thus neutralizing their high oxidation potential and preventing them from reacting with healthy tissue.

Water treated by electrolysis to increase its reduction potential is the best solution to the problem of providing a safe source of free electrons to block the oxidation of normal tissue by free oxygen radicals. It has been found that reduced water, water with an excess of free electrons to donate to active oxygen, is the best solution because of the following:

1. The reduction potential of water can be dramatically increased over other anti-oxidants in food or vitamin supplements.
2. "Through electrolysis, reduced water not only gains an excess amount of electrons, but the cluster of H2O seem to be reduced in size ..., Dr. Hayashi. As a result, the water increases hydration dramatically while providing a superior delivery system for the anti-oxidant benefits of the water. This encourages the body's ability to repair. Isn't that what we all want.

Isn't it wonderful that you can have
such a powerful anti-oxidant with Living Water. Put your body into repair mode and have optimal hydration at the same time. Having a Living Water machine in your home you are able to bathe your cells in anti-oxidant, alkaline water continually all day long. Awesome!!!

Have a great day, and call me if you have any questions.

Stricter Labeling Urged for Bottled Water

Associated Press/MSNBC

Wed., July 8, 2009

Consumers know less about the water they pay dearly for in bottles than what they can drink almost for free from the tap because the two are regulated differently, congressional investigators and nonprofit researchers say in new reports.

Both the Government Accountability Office and the Environmental Working Group, a nonprofit research and advocacy organization, recommend in reports released Wednesday that bottled water be labeled with the same level of information municipal water providers must disclose.

The researchers urged Americans to make bottled water "a distant second choice" to filtered tap water because there isn't enough information about bottled water. The working group recommends purifying tap water with a commercial filter, however.

Both reports were released at a congressional subcommittee Wednesday morning.

Bottled water — an industry worth about $16 billion in sales last year — has been suffering lately as colleges, communities and some governments take measures to limit or ban its consumption. As employers, they are motivated by cost savings and environmental concern because the bottles often are not recycled.

Bottled water sales were growing by double-digit percentages for years and were helping buoy the U.S. beverage industry overall. But they were flat last year, according to trade publication Beverage Digest.

Beverage Digest editor John Sicher said some consumers are turning on the tap during the recession simply because it's cheaper.

From 1997 to 2007, the amount of bottled water consumed per person in the U.S. more than doubled, from 13.4 gallons to 29.3 gallons, the GAO report said. The issue before a subcommittee of the Energy and Commerce Committee was less about waste and water quality concerns and more about the mechanics of regulating bottled water.

Nutrition information:

As a food product, bottled water is regulated by the Food and Drug Administration and required to show nutrition information and ingredients on its labels. Municipal water is under the control of the Environmental Protection Agency. The two agencies have similar standards for water quality, but the FDA has less authority to enforce them, the GAO said, and the environmental agency requires much more testing.

Subcommittee chairman Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Mich., said the subcommittee was requesting information Wednesday from a dozen bottled water companies on their water sources, treatment methods and two years' results of contaminant testing. It was not immediately clear which companies were being contacted.

"Consumers may not realize that many regulations that apply to municipalities responsible for tap water do not apply to companies that produce bottled water," he said in statements opening the hearing.

The GAO noted the FDA has yet to set standards for DEHP, one of several chemicals known as phthalates that are found in many household products, while the EPA limits the presence of phthalates in tap water.

In a survey of officials in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, the GAO found they think consumers are misinformed about bottled water. "Many replied that consumers often believe that bottled water is safer or healthier than tap water," according to the GAO report.

The Washington, D.C.-based Environmental Working Group said in its report that consumers do not get enough information to determine which water is best for them.
Both groups said some bottled water brands include the same information required of tap water providers on either labels or company Web sites. The GAO called for more research but said the FDA should start by requiring that bottled water labels tell consumers where to find out more.

Community water systems must distribute annual reports about their water's source, contaminants and possible health concerns. Consumers should know where all their water comes from, how it is treated and what is found in it, said Richard Wiles, senior vice president for policy and communications for the Environmental Working Group.

"If the municipal tap water systems can tell their customers this information, you would think that bottled water companies that charge 1,000 times more for this water could also let consumers know the same thing," he told The Associated Press.

THE ANSWER? Make Your Own!!!!!!! Bottled water is a chemical soup. The chemicals from the plastic leach into the water within without exception. Those are hormone disruptors and and carcinogens!! Does anyone want that? I sure don't, and I don't want it for my wife, my 6 children, or my 8 grandchildren. Our families are precious to us. It does not matter how expensive it is or how pristine "they" say the water is, they are all the same if it is in plastic!

It is so simple to make Ionized Water in your own home. It's healthy, non-polluting, less expensive, and safe. The perfect answer to the problem of bottled water. Call me for more information. It's important for your health, your family, and the planet.

Best to you,

What's Lurking on Your Produce, and How Does It Affect You?

We are hearing the statistics of so many children having ADHD in epidemic proportions. The latest report from MSN: Exposure to pesticides used on common kid-friendly fruits & vegetables — including frozen blueberries, fresh strawberries and celery — appears to boost the chances that children will be diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD, new research shows...

The findings are that youngsters with high levels of pesticide residue in their urine, particularly from widely used types of insecticide such as malathion, were more likely to have ADHD, the behavior disorder that often disrupts school and social life, scientists in the United States and Canada found.

“I think it's fairly significant. A doubling is a strong effect,” said Maryse F. Bouchard, a researcher at the University of Montreal in Quebec and lead author of the study published Monday in the Journal of Pediatrics...

Diet is a major source of pesticide exposure according to the National Academy of Sciences, and much of that exposure comes from favorite fruits and vegetables. In 2008, detectable concentrations of malathion were found in 28 percent of frozen blueberry samples, 25 percent of fresh strawberry samples and 19 percent of celery samples, a government report found...

A most alarming finding was a near-doubling in odds of ADHD diagnoses among kids with
higher-than-average levels of the most common of the six metabolites detected. Kids with high levels of dimethyl thiophosphate were 93 percent more likely to have the disorder than children with with undetectable levels of the marker.

Pesticides prey on the nervous system. Boucher studied organophosphate pesticides, which account for as much as 70 percent of the pesticide use in the U.S. They work by interfering with the nervous systems of insects, but have a similar effect in mammals, including humans. Most people in the U.S. have residues of the products in their urine...

Buy organic, make sure to wash, says the article:
The best advice for parents — and anyone who wants to avoid pesticides — is to choose foods least likely to contain them. The Environmental Working Group, a consumer advocacy organization, advises shoppers to buy organic versions of a dozen fruits and vegetables that grow in the ground or are commonly eaten with the skin, because they’re most likely to be contaminated...( Find out here what foods are least and most on the the pesticide list. You may be surprised.)

(The advice:) Make sure to wash all fruits and vegetables under cold running tap water and scrub firm-skinned produce with a brush. Be sure to rinse frozen fruits and vegetables, too.

But don’t wash produce with soap. The Food and Drug Administration says that could
leave behind residues of detergent, and yet more chemicals that everyone would do best to avoid.
-------End of Excerpts

We all know by now that those herbicides and pesticides are probably oil-based. They don't come off with just ordinary, tap water, and, as the article said, we shouldn't use detergents because they leave a harmful residue on the produce. What do you do to protect yourself and your loved ones? You can't scrub produce such as strawberries and blueberries.

You have the best water/cleaner for your fruits and vegetables automatically if you have an Living Water Electrolytic Water device. Soak your produce in 11.5 pH, strong, alkaline water several minutes to remove as much of these harmful, oil-based pesticides and herbicides as possible.

If you can, shop locally, and shop organic from sources you are familiar with such as your local Farmer's Market. Know from whom you are buying.

And, since there are so many different interpretations to the term "organic", if at all possible, grow it yourself. Although it is not possible for everyone to do so, that's the only way to really know what you are eating and what's NOT on your food.

The Acid Alkaline Imbalance & Disease

The concept of acid alkaline imbalance as the cause of disease is nothing new to be expounded upon by experts. It was in 1933, that Dr. William Howard Hay from New published a book, A New Health Era. In it he said that all disease is caused by auto-toxication (or "self-poisoning") due to acid accumulation in the body:

"Now we depart from health in just the proportion to which we have allowed our alkalies to be dissipated by introduction of acid-forming food in too great amount... It may seem strange to say that all disease is the same thing, no matter what its myriad modes of expression, but it is verily so." — William Howard Hay, M.D.

Dr. Otto Warburg discovered the real cause of cancer in 1923 and he received the Nobel Prize for doing so in 1931. Dr. Warburg was director of the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute (now Max Planck Institute) for cell physiology at Berlin. He investigated the metabolism of tumors and the respiration of cells, particularly cancer cells.

“Cancerous tissues are acidic, whereas healthy tissues are alkaline. Water splits into H+ and OH- ions, if there is an access of H+, it is acidic; if there is an access of OH- ions, then it is alkaline.”

In his work, The Metabolism of Tumours, he demonstrated that all forms of cancer are characterized by two basic conditions: acidosis and hypoxia (lack of oxygen). Lack of oxygen and acidosis are two sides of the same coin: where you have one, you have the other.... All normal cells have an absolute requirement for oxygen, but cancer cells can live without oxygen - a rule without exception... Deprive a cell 35% of its oxygen for 48 hours and it may become
cancerous." - Dr. Otto Warburg

Dr. Warburg has made it clear that the prime cause of cancer is oxygen deficiency (brought about by Toxemia). Dr Warburg discovered that cancer cells are anaerobic (do not breathe oxygen) and cannot survive in the presence of high levels of oxygen.

This is just information as to what happens when there is an extremely acidic condition in the body according to some experts. We have to make changes in our diet, in what we drink, and our lifestyle to help counter an over-acidic condition in our body.

Just some really brief suggestions for you: Eat better: Eat as natural. as possible. Don't rush when you eat. Chew your food very well. Your mouth has teeth; your stomach doesn't! Stop using drive-throughs!! It's usually junk-food, and you don't relax while you're eating. Food should be enjoyed and eaten under relaxed conditions. Avoid sodas like the plague. Drink pure, invigorating, non-bottled water-you know by now which one I drink. Have periods of time during every single day when you take time for yourself. Life should be enjoyed. Take a few moments each day to enjoy a bit of your favorite music, have a time of meditation, take a walk, do some yoga, meet with friends who are up-building and positive in your life, etc., and laugh. It's healthy for you!

Have a wonderful day,
Stephen

Can You Disinfect With Just Water? Yes, You Can!

By owning a Living Water Ionizer Device, you have access to 2.5 disinfectant water! Do you know the value of this water in your home? I have to share with you some excerpts from an article in the LA Times:

It's a kitchen degreaser. It's a window cleaner. It kills athlete's foot. Oh, and you can drink it.

Sounds like the old "Saturday Night Live" gag for Shimmer, the faux floor polish plugged by Gilda Radner. But the elixir is real. It has been approved by U.S. regulators. And it's starting to replace the toxic chemicals Americans use at home and on the job.

The stuff is a simple mixture of table salt and tap water whose ions have been scrambled with an electric current. Researchers have dubbed it electrolyzed water -- hardly as catchy as Mr. Clean. But at the Sheraton Delfina in Santa Monica, some hotel workers are calling it el liquido milagroso -- the miracle liquid.

That's as good a name as any for a substance that scientists say is powerful enough to kill anthrax spores without harming people or the environment. Used as a sanitizer for decades in Russia and Japan, it's slowly winning acceptance in the United States. A New York poultry processor uses it to kill salmonella on chicken carcasses... Michigan jailers mop with electrolyzed water to keep potentially lethal cleaners out of the hands of inmates.

In Santa Monica, the once-skeptical Sheraton housekeeping staff has ditched skin-chapping bleach and pungent ammonia for spray bottles filled with electrolyzed water to clean toilets and sinks.

"I didn't believe in it at first because it didn't have foam or any scent," said housekeeper Flor Corona. "But I can tell you it works. My rooms are clean."

For more than two centuries, scientists have tinkered with electrolysis, the use of an electric current to bring about a chemical reaction... It turns out that zapping salt water with low-voltage electricity creates a couple of powerful yet non-toxic cleaning agents, that cleans and de-greases like detergent, but without the scrubbing bubbles. This potent disinfectant is known as acidic water.

...Doctors use it to sterilize equipment and treat foot fungus and bedsores. Minnesota food scientist Joellen Feirtag said she was similarly skeptical. So she installed an electrolysis unit in her laboratory and began researching the technology. She found that the acid water killed E. coli, salmonella, listeria and other nasty pathogens. Yet it was gentle enough to soothe her children's sunburns and acne.

"It's 10 times more effective than bleach in killing bacteria
," said Yen-Con Hung, a
professor of food science at the University of Georgia-Griffin, who has been researching electrolyzed water for more than a decade. "And it's safe."

You are able to make an extremely effective disinfectant water that is safe for you, your children, and your pets from your machine. It kills numerous pathogens in 30 seconds.

Take advantage of this amazing water. Isn't it awesome that you don't have to buy those disinfectant gels and body washes with triclosan, propylene glycol and other substances that are hormone disruptors, and other poisonous, home disinfectants in those plastic bottles? The store-bought disinfectants are harmful to people, and the plastic bottles will become trash and contribute to the vast amount of plastic garbage thrown into landfills.

Wow! It's safe, so economical, and is eco-friendly, too. You can use it for insect bites, skin abrasions, other skin problems, and so much more.

My wife and I for 41 years have lived naturally. I have been a natural health practitioner for over 36 years. Our babies were birthed at home and nursed until they weaned themselves which was quite some time. My wife, Donna, never used a box mix for anything; she made everything from scratch and, always natural. We grew what we could on our city lots organically as our children were growing up. Keeping foods wholesome and natural, and living a lifestyle free from chemicals as much as possible we believe is important to our health and the welfare of the planet. Our 8, beautiful grandchildren, as well as, everyone else's precious grandchildren, need to have the opportunity to grow up in a world that is safe, and as pollution free as possible. Their health and safety from a world over-run by chemicals and pollution in the coming years depends, however, on what we do today.

What everyone does personally can make a difference. Keep your family safe, healthy, and free from such chemicals as triclosan that I discussed yesterday, by using such things as an ionized water for everything from drinking water and household cooking, to disinfecting and cleaning everything around the home safely. It's convenient-no plastic bottles to pollute the environment and no chemicals from the plastic bottles leaching into the water held within that people then drink! And, you have an endless supply handy at all times for your family-no hauling water from the store to your home. How great is that? I love it.

I found out three years ago that our local spring water was either to acidic if I got it from the cold springs, or just neutral from the hot springs and both were very oxidative: Yes, oxidative when tested. You wouldn't think that, would you? And, if I chose to get bottled water as an alternative, I discovered that most bottled water is as acidic as soda, and, without exception, is chemical laden from the plastic in which it is held. From studies it was likely to contain bacteria, too. It's, also, expensive for something that is so bad for us. I sure didn't want to buy that anymore.

Both those choices, at age 61, meant hauling water which was pretty laborious and inconvenient, especially in bad weather. Then I found out that I could make this awesome, alkaline, anti-oxidant, restructured water right in my home from my own tap source. I got a water ionizer for which I am so glad I did.

Well, I could go on on that subject, but ... enough for right now: Have a great day!

Till next time...

Take care, be happy, and live as natural as possible,

Are Anti-Bacterial Products Hazardous to Our Health?

Hello,

We have often mentioned in our emails and in our Health & Wellness Seminars how anti-bacterial products can be hazardous to your health. Below is a recent video that we want to share with you on some products commonly sold in stores and a chemical that is being used in them.

In the U.S., the FDA began a review of the safety of triclosan. What is Triclosan? It is an anti-bacterial chemical found in many consumer products, such as soap, hand sanitizers, toothpaste, etc.

Massachusetts Democrat Edward Markey has called for strict limits on the use of triclosan. "Despite the fact that this chemical is found in everything from soaps to socks," said Markey, "There are many troubling questions about triclosan's effectiveness and potentially harmful effects, especially for children."

Concerned? We all should be! In a study, it clearly showed that this chemical can alter hormone regulation and contribute to other maladies. Other studies have demonstrated how bacteria exposed to triclosan has the potential to become resistant to antibiotics.

Information on chemicals such as this is so important to have people know about. It is our children's and our grandchildren's future that is at stake. And, knowledge is the key.

By knowing what can affect our health is the only way we can totally avoid products containing harmful substances such as triclosan, and recognizing what to look for on labels. Just because it can be sold on a store shelf, doesn't mean that it is harmless. It is definitely "Buyer Beware."

Those who invest in a Living Water device have the ability to make amazing 2.5 pH water to use as a safe and most effective disinfectant and anti-bacterial fighter for their hands and homes. When you have a machine of your own, you'll be able to take a spray bottle of 2.5 pH water with you wherever you go as we do. Our young grandchildren even take a spray bottle to school with them to use instead of the sanitizing gels that teachers routinely dole out to each student during the day, and, the school system allows and approves of them to do this.

Please feel free to contact me for further information on this. It is vital information for your family's health and well-being.

Stay safe; stay healthy,
Stephen
