What Are You Using on Your Skin?

Your skin is the largest organ of the body. It absorbs what is put on to it, and it releases toxins. Even the ancients were aware of this transdermal process.

Because of this, we have to be very careful what personal care products we and our precious children and grandchildren use. Studies cited in the Journal of the American College of Toxicology warn that some of the substances found in skin care products are Sodium Lauryl Sulphates, known skin irritants shown to have degenerative effects on cell membranes; methyl-, propyl-, and butyl-parabens which are toxic and allergenic; and propylene glycol, an industrial anti-freeze used for moisture retention. Many of these and others are petroleum based: By-products of the oil industry!

You have to get to the point of doing the same thing with your personal care products that you do with your foods: If you can't pronounce it, if you don't absolutely know what it is or where it comes from-the source, don't use it! Remember: What is being put on the skin, gets absorbed into the body.

So when you are shopping, read the labels on your skin-care products, as well as, on your food products. You will be greatly surprised at what they contain.

More on this next time...

Where Does All the Plastic Go?

"Except for a small amount that's been incinerated—and it's a very small amount---every bit of plastic ever made still exists" according to the 2007 article “Plastic Ocean-Our oceans are turning into plastic…Are we?,” by Susan Casey in Best Life magazine.

Casey reveals that on August 3, 1997, 800 miles north of the beautiful, picturesque islands of Hawaii, Captain Charles Moore along with the crew of Alguita, discovered "a vast swath of the Pacific, twice the size of Texas, …full of a plastic stew that is entering the food chain." And, it is growing!

Scientists refer to this discovery and its dire implications for human and planetary health, as the "Eastern Garbage Patch." All over the world, plastic is not only blighting the scenery, it is polluting land and sea and entering the food chain with alarming statistics. All sea creatures are endangered from whales to zoo plankton. And, whatever affects marine animals, affects humans. Casey states that the "more invisible and ubiquitous the pollution, the more likely it will end up inside us...that we're ingesting plastic toxins constantly, …slight doses can severely disrupt gene activity."

One of the biggest contributors to the problem is plastic water bottles that can take up to 1,000 years to bio-degrade. Nine out of ten water bottles end up as refuse –at a rate of 60 million per day in America alone or 22 billion a year and rising according to the Waste Management World 2006 article “Down the Drain” by Pat Franklin. Many scientists are encouraging that we be more eco-friendly, recycle, and, most importantly, become less reliant on convenience in order to protect the earth for future generations.

Men Need Water, Too-Part 3

Part Three:

To stay hydrated, drink water. Ideally, however, your water should be alkaline and micro-clustered. You’ll hydrate more effectively if it is. Alkaline, micro-clustered water will reduce the amount of accumulated acidity in your muscles improving your work-out, increasing stamina and performance, and it will greatly lessen recovery time and discomfort after any strenuous activity.

Dr. Susan Lark, MD, in her book, The Chemistry of Success: Secrets of Peak Performance, says this about alkaline water, health, and performance: "The benefits of alkaline water through electrolysis far exceed just its ability to gently raise the pH of the cells and tissues of the body and to neutralize acids. Because the alkaline water has gained a significant number of free electrons through the electrolysis process, it is able to donate these electrons to active oxygen free radicals in the body, thereby becoming a super antioxidant. By donating its excess free electrons, alkaline water is able to block the oxidation of normal tissue by free oxygen radicals."

She goes on to explain micro-clustering of alkaline water and reducing the size of the molecules clusters of tap water by about 50%: "This allows ionized alkaline water to be much more readily absorbed by the body, thereby increasing the water's hydrating ability and its ability to carry its negative ions and alkalizing effect to all cells and tissues of the body... If you are overly acidic, an alkaline water device can provide a safe, gentle, and effective way of restoring the pH balance of all the cells in your body as well as providing excess free electrons to act as super antioxidants."

Everyone needs to drink plenty of healthy water for good health and longevity. With all the controversary over bottled water and their containers, experts say the possible health risks are enough to warrant reconsidering what you are drinking and to choose an alternative.

The best alternative, according to Dr. Lark and other experts, is to make purified, alkaline, micro-clustered/hexagonal, super anti-oxidant water-many times more beneficial than Vitamin C and Green Tea-right from your own tap, and it is very easy to do. Fill a glass or stainless steel bottle and carry it with you to stay well hydrated throughout the day. Don't take chances with your most precious commodity; your health. And, at the same time, by eliminating plastic bottles on a daily basis, you'll help the environment, too.

To find out about an "alkaline water device" that is superior in performance that I and my wife have benefited very much from and have enjoyed using for over a year now, contact me. I'll be happy to tell you about it. We have an amazing testimony we'd love to share with you.

Have a great day & stay hydrated,

Men Need Water, Too-Part 2

Part two: Getting back to men, chemicals, and the need for water....

It has been discovered that the chemicals BPA and phthalates found in the plastic water bottles, just doesn’t affect women. It, also, affects men. In a 2006 review of 700 studies by NIEHS, it was found that "rodents exposed... had higher rates of... reduced sperm counts, and neurological disorders."

In the Vogue Magazine article of August-2007, An Inconvenient Truth; The Link Between Infertility & the Environment, it stated that BPA "has been shown in animal studies to cause prostate cancer and malformed genitals."

We have so many chemicals in our environment that affect our health and well-being and that of our family. We are bombarded with chemicals in the air we breathe, in and on the foods we eat, and in the water we drink. The chemicals in the environment can cause us to be overly acidic, too. We have a population that is generally overly acidic. To contribute to this is stressful lifestyle we lead, the foods we eat, and the beverages we drink, among other things.

Beverages such as sodas, sports drinks, and energy drinks are acidic, as well as, even some of the bottled waters. The plastics in which they are contained leach chemicals since water is a solvent.

So, in view of all this, what can everyone-men, women, and children-drink to stay both hydrated and healthy during times of physical activity and stress without causing them more health challenges? Find out more tomorrow-

This is important, Guys. We live in a chemical environment that is taking a toll on our health. So bookmark this blog. Find out how important & necessary good, pure water is that's, also, alkaline, super hydrating, and anti-oxidant-many times more anti-oxidant than vitamin C or Green Tea-for our health, well-being, and longevity. Any baby boomer out there will attest to the importance of living active, productive lives for as long as we possibly can. Right?

Well, water is a vital part of that process. After all we are over 70% water. If we aren't consuming enough water, then God must have made a mistake. Because that's what we should be drinking. He didn't make us 70% coffee, soda, or whatever else men drink to quench their thirst-He made WATER!.

Till next time...Take care & God bless,
Stephen

Men Need Water, Too

Everyone needs water. It's not just for women, Guys. It is vitally important for life. We can't live without it. You're more than 70% water. Your brain is 85% water! However, the question is: What water do we drink?

Let's consider some interesting facts. There was an interesting article in the August issue of Vogue magazine of 2007, on the chemicals in your environment and the fact that they cause many health problems people encounter in their lives. As one quote brought out, " We're all awash in a sea of chemicals," said Sarah Janssen, M.D., PhD., a scientist with the natural Resources Defense Council. People continue to be exposed while we try and figure out how to test things."

The chemicals of primary concern are the group of " synthetic compounds known as endocrine disruptors so named for their ability to mimic or block hormones that regulate many of the body's functions." One of the chemicals in question was bisphenol-A, or BPA's, on which there has been a great deal of discussion of late.In the Vogue article, it mentioned how the chemical can affect women. Studies revealed the following: "Low-level fetal exposure in animals linked to breast cancer', "harm mammary gland development in females at puberty", and "traced the chemical to an increase in miscarriages."

However, it has been discovered that it, also, affects men: "Reduced sperm counts, and neurological disorders," found in a 2006 review of 700 studies by the NIEHS. In the aforementioned Vogue article it mentioned "prostate cancer", too.

Next time, I'll discuss this in more detail. In the meantime, you can get a more information at http://www.be-alkaline.com/ Write me if you have any questions at stephen@be-alkaline.com . I'll be happy to answer them.

Till next time...,

FYI-Did you know? 90% of the the cost of bottled water is the plastic packaging, lid, and label.--http://business.earth911.org/materials/plastic/ Let's take care of the earth and stop using plastic water bottles for the sake of future generations-our grandchildren's grandchildren. It takes a thousand years to break down. Every bit of plastic ever produced, except for the very small amount either incinerated or recycled, is still around today and will be for about a thousand years more, and the amount disposed of is growing exponentially every day. Can the earth and its environment or eco-system survive such abuse? Think about it...

Are you Drinking Enough Water?

Your body is the greatest piece of machinery in the world. If cut, it heals itself. It makes new cells to replace the old. The wonders go on and on. We have 6 beautiful grandchildren at present, and in the next few months they'll be another adorable baby added to our growing family. Just looking at a our newborn grandchildren, puts me in awe at the miracle of which we are.

You know a mechanic will take great care in making sure the fuel he/she puts into an engine is the best so it runs properly. You put enough oil in the crank case so your car will perform well. You wouldn't drive without transmission fluid. And, we can't go anywhere without gas in the tank.

Same principal is true with our bodies. We have to make sure we put the right things in to it so that it runs well and eliminates waste material so it doesn't get clogged up and refuse to work properly; just like a car. One of those things is water. Above, you'll view the new food pyramid. At the top is pure water!

Our bodies are over 70% water. Our brain is 85% water! Doesn't it make sense then to put the best water and enough water into your body? Visit the web site below, and request the free eBook. It's nineteen pages of great information. You won't get spammed. I'm the only one to get your information, and I promise I will never share or sell it.

Till next time, have a great day!

What's In Your Bottled Water?

There's a great article in the February issue of Reader's Digest on the hazards of drinking bottled water."Chemicals, contaminants, pollution, price: New Reasons to Rethink What You Drink." I just had to share this with you.

Here are some quotes from the article:
"Labels can be misleading... In one notorious case, water coming from a well located near a hazardous waste site was sold to many bottlers. At least one of these companies labeled its product "spring Water." In another case.
H2O, sold as "pure glacier water" came from a "public water system in Alaska."

"In 1999 the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) tested more than 1,000 bottles of 103 brands of water... At least one sample of a third of the brands contained bacteria or chemical contaminants, including carcinogens, in levels exceeding state or inductry standards. Since that time, the industry has not made an major changes, so the risks are most likely still there."

"The NRDC found samples of two brands were contaminated with phalates... one case exceeding EPA standards for tap water." Phalates are endocrine disrupters, "which means they block or mimic hormones, affecting the body's normal functions. And the effects of exposure to the widespread chemicals may add up." Imagine, bottled water can have all that and is usually very acidic, too, which we can show people.

More next time...

P.S. For a visual demonstration on just how acidic what you drink is, please go to our website, http://www.be-alkaline.com/ On the referred site that you will get in the first email you will get some amazing information. As I said above, most everything from energy drinks, sports drinks, to Bottled Waters-yes, bottled waters, especially those that are reverse osmosis, are acidic! This is so important to know for your health. Add to that the chemicals in the water leached from the plastic bottles, and that is what you are paying for. Take care, and "rethink what you drink!"

Wellness Depends on Alkalinity

Some have asked us, "Why is our pH level so important?" Well, let's see what some experts say.

Dr. Theodore Baroody, in his book,"Alkalize of Die," makes this comment, "The countless names of illnesses do not really matter. What does matter is that they all come from the same basic root cause…too much acid tissue waste in the body!"

Sang Whang, writer of "Reverse Aging," says that even if we consume the most beneficial of healthful fruit and vegetables, 97% of our food still consists of carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen and oxygen, and assuredly will be brought down to acid waste in the body. He tells us that it is not what we put into our bodies, it's what remains in our bodies as waste that creates our over-acidic condition. This is one contributing factor to premature aging.

In terms of the delicate acid/alkaline balance in our bodies, the only difference between the 'good' food and 'bad food,' is that 'good' food will cause less acidic waste and more acidic neutralizing effects. And, what we drink can greatly affect how well our bodies can cope with the resulting acidic condition in the body from what we eat.

Life is in water. We need water: Can't live without it. Our bodies are over 70% water! So it just makes sense that what we put into our bodies in the form of liquids, is very important to our overall health. It can either contribute to the acidic condition, or it can greatly neutralize it and bring to a more alkaline state.

Most people don't drink enough water. They feel that other liquids can substitute for water which is a misnomer. Nothing substitutes for water. God didn't give Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden a juice bar, coffee maker, or soda dispenser: It was water!

So, if we need water-nature's elixir, what water do we drink? This is the important question and one that desperately needs to be addressed. As I mentioned last time, it needs three vital components to be truly healthy water for you: Your water needs to be Alkaline, micro-clusterd/hexegonal, and have anti-oxidant factors. I will discuss more in detail in future posts.
In the meantime, visit www.be-alkaline.com for more information I know you will find interesting.

Baby Boomers, Listen!

The Baby Boomer generation is here. Millions are approaching 60 everyday. However, this generations of sectarians, are not like many of the rocking chair 60 year olds of days gone by. Baby boomers, retirees, and others are wanting to travel, enter senior Olympics, become entrepreneurs, and stay active. My wife and I are over and just under 60. We want to stay healthy, alert, and active for many years to come. We've been married almost 39 years and desire many more years to enjoy each other's company, and spend time with our six children and almost 7 grandchildren-so far.

How can we Baby Boomers stay active, feel great, and be healthy? Be Alkaline. What do I mean by that? I have spent over 39 years in the natural health. Over 96% of all Americans, as well as many other people around the world, are overly acidic. Our diet, our stressful lives, the air we breathe, the water and other beverages we drink, and even a negative outlook on life, can all lead to acidosis. And, acidosis, can lead to premature aging, chronic complaints, and health challenges.

And, according to Dr. Ijon, water researcher, every metabolic function creates waste which causes acidification. Even exercise, if you do not properly rehydrate to neutralize the lactic acid in the system, can cause one to become acidic. Over acidification has been known to cause effects of premature aging and illnesses if the body cannot eliminate waste more effectively. However, it the body is able to eliminate acidity and wastes, your life expectancy and overall health may possibly be improved.

And, there's another problem that this generation of Baby Boomers has been exposed to more than past generations: Chemicals in the environment! How does that affect us? Well, when a body is acidic, as 96% of us are, the body holds onto those heavy metals like cadmium, lead, and mercury, just to name a few, and those in turn can create what is known as oxidative stress that makes our bodies even more acidic and can cause degenerative illnesses. Even very small amounts can affect us.

So what's the answer for us to Be Alkaline? Electrolytic, Hexagonal, Alkaline Water! More in my next post... Till then, stay safe, and stay happy.

Stephen Kudabeck

Water, Water Everywhere: Which One Do I Drink?

Hope you are having a great day--There is so much discussion on water lately. Bottled water is the topic of conversation everywhere. There are so many to choose from. And, tragically, as a by-product, in the US alone, 50 billion plastic bottles are being thrown away: Bottles that won't bio-degrade for hundreds and hundreds of years. What a legacy to leave the children of the world!

But, that's only one of the problems of drinking bottled water. Most importantly, for your health, the water you drink should be alkaline for good health. That means it should be 8.5 to 9.5 on the pH scale.

Lots of authors are discussing this subject. The majority of bottled water is reverse osmosis. None of those that I have tested is alkaline or even neutral, 7.0. In fact, they test out quite below neutral in the low pH range which means they are acidic. Spring water is usually somewhere around neutral. However, most are bottled in plastic that can release harmful chemicals into your water that can cause problems. I'll discuss more on that in future posts.

And, how about soda pop? That has a pH of below neutral to the extent that if you drink just one small soda, yes, one small soda, you need to drink 32 + 8 oz. glasses of Alkaline water-9.5 pH-to neutralize your body from the acidic properties of that one small can. Can you imagine the effect on a person's body from those Big Gulps that people buy? And, don't get me started on diet sodas. More on that in the future, too.

Our health is just way to important to fool around with. What we drink is vital to our health and well-being. There's, also, a really informative, short newsletter that will come just once a week for a few weeks-won't bog your e-mail box down. I'm the only one that gets your info, and I promise I won't share or sell it. So request both. You'll soon discover that all water is not the same and how important the right choices are.

"Water is the noblest of all the elements" -- Pindar (518-438 BCE) Ancient Greek lyric poet
